BST Global CEO Javier A. Baldor participated in ACEC Research Institute’s roundtable, “Lump Sum Contracting: Current Practices, Opportunities and Challenges.” This thought-provoking roundtable focused on the potential opportunities and challenges of lump sum structures for engineering and design services in the transportation sector.

During the session, Javier gave his unique perspective on how the AEC industry’s commercial atmosphere is changing as AI and other technologies come into play. In his words: “I believe we are ushering in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and it will be powered by all things AI and data. It is going to transform our industry as we know it.” Additionally, Javier explained that firms will need to make massive investments in new and emerging technologies (like AI, machine learning and big data) while also retraining and upskilling their professionals if they hope to prosper in the future.
