BST Global Leadership Participates in EFCG’s 2021 Technology Leadership Conference
In June 2021, BST Global’s Chief Executive Officer Javier A. Baldor and Director of Knowledge Management Hank Tran presented to EFCG’s Technology Leadership Conference attendees. The event took place virtually over two days with sessions and expert panel discussions focused on working in a post-COVID world, technology innovations and advancements, organizational network analysis and more.
As a partner of EFCG, BST Global was invited to participate in one of the expert panels and present a session about project intelligence™. Javier provided insights during a panel discussion titled “The Business of Innovation and Technology,” where he was joined by industry experts from CDM Smith, Kleinfelder and VHB. Throughout the session, panelists addressed the importance of making room for innovation in a time of tremendous pressure, ways to propel both business and customers through the adoption curve quickly, and how investing in technology and innovation is essential to thriving as a firm.
During his opportunity to weigh in, Javier discussed the opportunity that firms have to improve profitability through their technology strategy. He outlined the idea that a fundamental change must occur in the way the AEC industry approaches overall project management
“If a consultancy would like to materially increase profitability … we need to move from a process that is based principally on accounting for projects to a new way that fosters a smart, data-driven consultancy centered on leveraging project intelligence™.” – Javier A. Baldor, Chief Executive Officer, BST Global
Later in the day, Hank’s workshop titled “AI Brings Project Intelligence™ to the AEC Industry” reinforced Javier’s remarks about driving the industry forward through innovation and adoption of intelligent technology advancements. During his segment, Hank shared that digital technology such as machine learning and big data helps consultancies leverage predictive insights to positively affect project outcomes, profitability and utilization.
“I believe today’s project intelligence™ solutions need to be much more than just passive dashboards and static reports. Big data and intelligent automation can unlock efficiencies and predictive capabilities that will help you better manage your projects.” – Hank Tran, Director, Knowledge Management, BST Global
