Enrico leads AI and design technology for AWS’s global data center engineering program. His team develops domain-specialized AI and software products that power the design and accelerate the delivery of hyperscale infrastructure supporting dozens of gigawatts of capacity across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The team’s applied research bridges frontier AI and the physical built environment with tools like purpose-built vision-language models and world models that interpret 2D drawings and 3D geometry, recursive self-improvement reinforcement learning for compliant design output, and autonomous multi-agent AI architectures that automate multi-step design.
Before joining AWS, Enrico founded BIM Pro, Inc., a design technology consulting company, and led design technology at Heller Manus Architects on programs valued at over $3.5 billion. He co-founded the San Francisco Computational Design Institute, a nonprofit community dedicated to advancing open-source solutions and new technologies in the AEC industry, growing it to more than 1,500 members before its merger with the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He then went on to lead the AIA San Francisco Technology in Architectural Practice committee.
Enrico is a named inventor on two U.S. patents and a co-author of peer-reviewed research on vision-language AI models for AEC drawing understanding. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, holds a dual master’s degree in engineering and architecture from the University of Pavia, Italy and an MBA from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and received computer science training from MIT.
