Louisa Bloomer

Louisa is Stantec’s Global AI and Data Director, defining and delivering the firm’s vision for AI across a global business of 35,000 people. She sets AI strategy with leaders across the firm and leads the governance, data management and enablement network that lets AI adoption scale safely. Her focus is on AI with intent, not AI for its own sake.

Louisa has spent her career translating between the people who own a problem and the technology that can solve it. As GIS and Data Lead for Transport for London’s (TfL) Strategy and Planning group, she developed TfL’s first geospatial strategy and brought spatial evidence into decision-making across London’s boroughs. At the New Zealand Transport Agency, she was Principal Geospatial Advisor and Statistical Manager, leading the National Road Centreline Project and overseeing national legislatively required datasets.

Based in New Zealand, Louisa moved into the global role from leading Digital Technology across Stantec’s Asia Pacific region and now works across a business spanning North America, the UK and Ireland, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Louisa has also recently completed the Leading in a Digital Era Executive Education program at Harvard Business School. A former member of the national Board of ACE New Zealand and deputy chair of Women in Spatial and Survey NZ, she mentors women into STEM careers through the SSSI Mentoring Programmes.
