PowerUp 2024 Users Conference

BST Global hosted clients in Clearwater Beach, FL, for an in-person users conference May 20–23, 2024. PowerUp 2024 took place at the Sandpearl Resort and was attended by more than 200 BST Global experts, clients and product users from around the world. The conference kicked off on Monday evening with a welcome reception by the gulf, where everyone enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres while mingling to the sounds of a steel drum at sunset. 

The next morning, BST Global’s CEO, Javier A. Baldor, set the tone for the first full day of sessions with an insightful address on the state of the AEC industry. He also announced the release of BST Global’s latest product offerings and enhancements, such as BST Connect, Resource Management powered by Audere, and more. 

Chief Product Officer Debbie Preacher then took the stage to share BST Global’s vision for the future, joined by Senior Product Manager Scott Tate and Product Director John Mathew to demonstrate some of our latest offerings. Throughout the rest of the day, attendees divided their time between breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, hands-on labs and networking opportunities. The day closed with our 90-minute Finance & Accounting Operations and Project Operations forums, each facilitated by a client representative and a BST Global expert.

Wednesday morning’s keynote was presented by BST Global President & CTO Carlos A. Baldor Jr., who discussed what the AEC industry can expect from the ongoing “AI revolution.” Then, Director of AI & Analytics Hank Tran demonstrated Microsoft’s recently released generative AI tool, Microsoft Fabric, and how it can both extract structure from data and explore unstructured data. 

Next, Frost & Sullivan’s Associate Partner of ICT Research, Lynda Stadtmueller, took the stage to share the global research and consulting firm’s insights on the digital transformation of the AEC industry. During her presentation, Lynda examined how the customized nature of projects makes it difficult for AEC firms to prioritize digitization, and why overcoming these unique challenges is crucial to the evolution of the industry. She also discussed how BST Global is helping to move our clients and the industry forward in this transformation by bridging the market gap for project-level visibility and project intelligence™.

Wednesday continued with more networking opportunities, informational sessions and hands-on labs for attendees to choose from. To close out such a productive day, our client appreciation dinner and “Havana Nights” party had everyone dancing the night away. Attendees enjoyed hand-rolled cigars, posed in a 360° photo booth and made memories by the sea.

Thursday morning brought BST Global Director of Release Management Danielle Paul to the stage to discuss the release roadmap for BST Global solutions over the next two years. The final day of PowerUp 2024 wrapped up with more breakout sessions and hands-on labs as attendees made networking connections and planned to see each other at the next PowerUp conference.
